Our external works in Nailsea included footpath kerbing and ground preparation on a developing site. We formed the path boundaries and prepared the stone surface between them, establishing the route before the final surfacing stage.
Installing straight and curved kerb lines
We laid kerbs along straight sections and around changes in direction. The work defined the footprint of the path and the points where it connects with other parts of the development.
A curved junction needs to work with the routes approaching it. We treated these sections as part of the overall path layout, rather than as separate lengths of edging.
Building up the area between the edges
The next part of the work was the stone preparation within the kerbed area. This brought the path forward from its boundary lines to a prepared route awaiting surfacing.
The surrounding site was still under construction at this stage. Keeping the path connected to neighbouring plots and external works was an important part of the scope.
Planning footpath groundwork
We provide kerbing and external groundwork in Nailsea, Bristol and nearby areas. For a new scheme, useful starting information includes the proposed route, adjoining surfaces and the intended final finish.
