We carried out formwork and reinforcement preparation in Harry Stoke as part of reinforced concrete construction. The work involved timber shutters around the formed area and steel reinforcement within it, ready for the subsequent concrete stage.
Building the formwork
We assembled timber panels around the area, with framing and braces supporting the formwork. Corners and internal sections defined the shape to be formed in concrete.
Formwork is temporary, but it establishes the geometry of the element during placement. The enclosed area and its boundaries therefore need to be considered together.
Preparing the reinforcement
Our work included arranging steel bars within the formwork, with a grid across the area and further reinforcement along the sides. This brought the reinforcement and shuttering into the same prepared assembly.
The steel arrangement is specific to the structural design. Dimensions, reinforcement details and concrete specification must come from the requirements for the individual project.
The stage before concrete placement
This project records preparation before the concrete pour. At this point, the formwork and steel were in place while the element remained open for the next construction stage.
We provide formwork, reinforcement preparation and concrete groundwork for projects around Bristol, including work within larger foundation and substructure packages.
